If you have been waiting to buy a new tablet for the summer, then this could be a great time to take the plunge and make that purchase. 

The newly released HP Slate 7 is down $30 in the U.S., now selling at retail for $140 (8GB) and $170 (16GB). 

The Amazon Kindle Fire HD is also on sale with now available for just $169. You can pick up the Kindle Fire HD 7" on Amazon HERE

There is a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" available as well for $269 if you prefer the larger screen for viewing. 

Barnes and Noble seems to have started this trend with the Nook HD and Nook HD+ both selling at a discounted price and moving well. 

Compare those prices to the iPad 4 going for $499 and the iPad Mini selling for $329. You can pick up a iPad 2 for $399 as well. 

The iPad 4 comes with a 9.7 inch screen and the iPad Mini has a 7.9 inch screen and both come in 16, 32 and 64GB options. 

Still no official word on when the new iPad 5 and iPad Mini will be released, speculation is October or November 2013.
