Kesha's Eating Disorder Makes Famed Producer Dr. Luke Target of Twitter Death Threats
Kesha's music producer and label head Dr. Luke decided to go to police after receiving several death treats blaming the music mogul for the pop star's eating disorder.
Luke started to receive a bombardment of troubling tweets last month soon after Kesha checked herself into rehab to seek treatment for a reported eating disorder. She blamed him for her condition.
TMZ reported that in the search warrant documents, cops point out some of the tweets.
"You need to be worried because IMA slit your throat before January is over," read one in the report. Another claimed, "Im gonna gut you like a fish then skin you and glue ur wrinkly raisin skin to a fridge!" Others were too explicit to share.
Cops are taking the threats seriously, especially because one tweet gave the home address and phone number of Luke and then invited followers to kill him.
Los Angeles police are making efforts to track down the unidentified tweeters by filing search warrants, NY Daily News reported.
Reports began circulating everywhere when the singers mother Pebe Sebert spoke to People magazine about her daughter's producer. "Dr. Luke had been telling her how she had to get in shape and lose weight and all this stuff. She was exercising and dieting and ultimately doing everything she could, but not getting thin fast enough," she said, "And that's when she first became bulimic."
The illustrious producer, however, denied the allegations through a statement from his spokesperson. "These statements and allegations concerning Dr. Luke are completely false," read the statement. "It is unfortunate that at a time Ke$ha is suffering immensely and trying to heal at a treatment center, her mother is taking this approach with the media. I give Ke$ha my utmost support and well wishes for a quick return to health."
The singer announced this week that she would be postponing her March and April tour dates because she needs more time to deal with her eating disorder. The singer checked herself into Timberline Knolls rehabilitation center near Chicago in the beginning of the year.
