Kerry Washington and husband Nnamdi Asomugha have welcomed their baby girl into the world, she was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.  This is first time that the Scandal actress and former NFL player are parents, and they have named her Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha. 

Washington kept her delivery out of public knowledge, which was what many had expected from the traditionally private actress. The has a secret of keeping her personal life out of the public eye, and fans were left stunned in June 2013 when she reported that she had secretly married her husband.

The Django Unchained celebrity refused to comment on her pregnancy, which was first rumored in October last year.  When asked about how she was coping with the physical changes, she briefly said, "I look for 'things' that fit.  That's the first rule - what fits." 

She added, "You know, it's sort of like the rest of my private life.  I'm not talking about it that much, but I feel really, really blessed," when asked about certain food cravings.

Amanda Silverman, Washington's publicist, clarified that there would be no media exposure of the baby's delivery since the party had no statement to provide.

In her full-time role as Olivia Pope in the hit series Scandal, Washington had to do a lot of cover-ups to maintain her on-screen physique, which included oversized coats, big purses, and blurry images on camera frames. 

"It's been an awesome challenge for me as an actor because so much of how I access character is through my body. It's definitely been complicated to say the least," she said.

Washington recently said in an interview that she is grateful for the Shonda Rhimes' production crew for giving her the support that she needed.  The TV series was cut from 22 to 18 episodes to give way to the actress' nearing due date.
