Kendall and Kylie Jenner Open up About Parent's Separation on Chelsea Lately 'It Sucks Not Having A Dad Live With You'
Former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner recently confirmed their split after 22 years of marriage, and the couples' two kids together Kylie and Kendall opened up about it on the Chelsea Lately show.
"I think we're doing fine," Kendall said Wednesday night on Chelsea Lately. "It sucks not having a dad living with you but I talk to him everyday."
"We hang out all the time," Kylie added and then said her dad has a habit of giving her daily weather reports from Malibu.
During a podcast interview with Kathie Lee Gifford, Kris, 57, explained the reason for the split.
"We decided this was best for our family. We came to a place where this isn't healthy, the way we were treating each other," the mom of six said.
"I was so blessed to meet Bruce Jenner," she said. "I adore Bruce. Bruce and I are and will remain best friends. We're just separated, we're not divorcing. And what happens in life is that we are better people and happier spending time apart than together. This is the best for our situation and we're keeping it real tight and private. It's just what we need to do right now."
The Jenner couple announced their split to the kids while the cameras were rolling on their hit reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. The two had been living in seperate homes, supposedly just for summer convenience for a few months, but ultimately led to the separation.
Khloe Kardashion who is also going through her own divorce with husband Lamar Odom opened up about mom Kris Jenner's split from her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, and how it has affected - or not affected -- the Kardashian clan.
"It wasn't some huge shock for the older kids," the reality star said during an interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show in Sydney, Australia. "[They've been] living apart for maybe like a year now," she confirmed.
"I even said on the show, 'Once you guys put that much space in between you guys, I don't think you will ever move back together,'" she said. "Because you kind of get comfortable in that space. So I wasn't for him moving out in the first place. I just kind of saw it going down this road."
"They have a harder time kind of understanding it," Kardashian admmitted. "They were like, 'Well, why don't you guys just get a divorce then?!'"
Kardashian affirmed that the separation has made this more pleasant at home. "They're nicer to each other [now]. My mom could get frustrated with him very quickly. Or he would always want to play golf and be gone," she said, but now "he actually wants to come over more and be around us more. I would say it's a really positive thing. My mom and him, there's no animosity."
Dating post-split, is apparently a different story the realty star says. "[They aren't] looking to be with other people right now, I just think they're happier being apart."
