Katherine Heigl Facebook Post Slams Rumors About Her Alleged Rudeness
Actress Katherine Heigl who had been rumored to be rude by several news agencies recently broke her silence and defended herself saying she disagrees with the idea. She opened up, holding nothing back as she posted for all her fans on Facebook.
"Yeah I've heard those too...honestly I don't think I am...nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someone's feelings and I would never, ever actively do so on purpose," the 35-year-old actress said.
It may be true that Heigl wouldn't ever actively be rude on purpose, but according to 'Grey's Anatomy' creator and producer Shonda Rhimes, Heigl was difficult to work with during her time with the renowned television series.
In an interview for the production of 'Scandal', Rhimes said "There are no Heigls in this situation. ... I don't put up with bulls**t or nasty people," she told the Hollywood Reporter describing Heigl. "I don't have time for it." Rhimes continued.
Heigl on the other hand still has not directly responded to Rhimes' statements about her. But she did admit making mistakes. "Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right," Heigl said on her Facebook Q&A.
"That doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to," the actress continued.
After her role in 'Grey's Anatomy' where Rhimes had the impression that Heigl was rude, the actress continued to defend herself during her press conference at her new show, 'State of Affairs'.
"I can only say that I certainly don't see myself as being difficult. I would never intend to be difficult. I don't think my mother sees herself as being difficult. I think it's important to everybody to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully and kindly. If I have ever disappointed somebody, it was not intentional," Heigl said.
In 'State of Affairs', Heigl plays a new role as CIA briefer Charlie Tucker, and seems to be enthusiastic about it, "There is so much about the story and the character that drew me in! I love that [Charlie] is a strong, intelligent, powerful woman who has these weaknesses and vulnerabilities," she said on Facebook.
