Kate Middleton pregnancy update!

As we all know Kate Middleton and Prince William are expecting their first baby soon [due date in mid-July to be a little more specific]. A very pregnant Kate is making her last public appearance Thursday before taking her maternity leave. The event today is a time-honored tradition where a royal matriarch [namely a princess or duchess] christens a ship, and ultimately becomes the ship's godmother.

Princess Cruise CEO Alan Buckelew opened the event with a few remarks about the ceremony and Kate Middleton.

"The ritual marks the birth of the vessel and a blessing for the safety of the ship, its' crew, and the passengers. A godmother is the figurative patron of the ship for its' entire life, symbolizing the spirit of the vessel," Buckelew said.

With baby bump expanding each and every day, Middleton looked gorgeous as usual, dressed in a $265 Dalmatian print coat. How a 31-year old pregnant woman stays so stunning is beyond me.

After Middleton's closing remarks at the podium, per custom, Kate smashed a bottle of Moet et Chandon champagne against the side of the ship, signifying the royal blessing. Afterwards the Duchess took a tour of the "Royal Princess".

Again, this will be the last public engagement before Kate withdraws for maternity leave. Middleton's is due to give birth on July 11, according to sources close to the pregnant Duchess.
