Kanye West is a twitter sensation, rapper, Kim Kardashian's fiancé, and enemy of police officers everywhere after he made several poorly thought out remarks about how his life was similar to that of policemen. The touring rapper told Saturday Night Online over the weekend, "I think about my family and I'm like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, or like war or something. You're literally going to do your job every day, knowing that something could happen to you."

Although the comments, when taken out of context, seem harsh and bigoted, Kanye probably didn't mean any disrespect to the armed forces or any of the police officers in America. However, that didn't stop Brimfield, Ohio police chief David Oliver from writing a scathing open letter to Yeezus about his comments. He wrote, "Since you are so accustomed to danger... I would like you to volunteer to be deployed in Afghanistan or one of the numerous other forward locations where our men and women are currently serving. When the Taliban starts shooting at you, perhaps you could stand up and let the words flow."

Kanye West has been in some PR trouble before, but he never has invoked the wrath of the armed forces. Yeezus once said that celebrity is "like walking a tightrope, fighing for creativity, fighting for ideas, fighting for thought."

Do you think that Yeezus fell off his tightrope and made a real blunder, or is Oliver just getting his feathers ruffled for no reason? To be fair, West has never been too politically motivated and was probably just making a funny analogy, even if it was poorly planned. Give the guy a break!
