Kanye West New Album 2013: "Yeezus" Release Date / Minimalist Artwork Revealed / Daft Punk Featured as Composers [VIDEO]

Kanye West New Album 2013 update!

2013 is already shaping up to be a big year for Hip-Hop. Earlier in the year Shady Records announced "something big is coming" prompting a flood of rumors linked to a new Eminem album in mid to late 2013.

After an intense performance on SNL weeks ago, Kanye is preparing to release his sixth studio album Yeezus. Kanye also confirms contributions from Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter as "composers" for one of Kanye's first singles off the record, "Black Skinhead".

In April, Daft Punk stopped by Kanye's secret Paris apartment turned studio to lend a hand on Yeezus, recording two songs with the rapper.

"It was very raw: he was rapping - kind of screaming primally, actually," Bangalter told Rolling Stone Magazine. De Homem-Christo added: "He's a good friend."

Daft Punk, who also just released their latest album Random Access Memories back in May, are just one name on a long list of collaborators on Yeezus. Frank Ocean, Skrillex, John Legend, Tyler the Creator, RZA, Hudson Mohawke, James Blake and Jay Electronica are also featured on the new album.

On May 31st, Yeezy revealed the minimalist artwork for Yeezus. The artwork is essentially a clear CD case and a red sticker on the front with "Yeezus" scribbled on it.

Regardless of what you think of Kanye West or his music, his new album is bound to stir up some controversy. Yeezus is scheduled for a June 18 release date.
