Justin Timberlake Photo Causes Unrest in Middle East Between Israel and Palestine; Picture of Singer Praying Causes Social Media Uproar (PHOTO)

Pop star Justin Timberlake found himself in the crossfire of the Israel/Palestine conflict with an Instagram photo the singer posted of himself praying at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.

"The Holy Land... What an experience. I will never forget this day. #Israel," Timberlake captioned the photo. In the picture the singer is seen with his head bowing down in prayer while his hands are touching the stones of the last remaining wall of the Second Holy Temple that was destroyed in 70 A.D. The wall attracts Christians and Jewish people alike as believers of both faiths come and pray by it.

Immediately the photo blew up with comments from people supporting the singer's Israel hashtag and others expressed anger because of it. The picture now has over 200 thousand likes and nearly nine thousand comments.

Israeli fans answered with supportive messages such as, "welcome to the amazing state of Israel...we love you!!!" Another wrote, "Welcome to the promised land!!! Israel it is, Israel it will be always for eternity of days!"

Others supporters wrote, "#longliveisrael ♥" and "#israelforever."

Palestinian supporters criticized his caption and wrote,"FYI , it's called #PALESTINE." Another person chimed in, "Choosing ur religion is a matter of choice which I really respect, but he had no right to call it Israel it's called PALESTINE for heaven's sake."

Some commenters pleaded for 'peace" among both parties.

Israel considers Jerusalem as its united capital while Palestinians claim east Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state. This division has been going on since the mid-20th century.

Timberlake is scheduled to perform a concert in Israel and his fans have gone above and beyond to welcome the former N' SYNC member. Agrarians in Ein Yahav even named a new variety of melon after Timberlake.

Jpost reported that the new "Justin" melon is yellow on the outside and orange on the inside. It is known for its sweet taste and its three-week shelf life.
