Jurassic World Details: Director Says Film is Set "22 Years After Horrific Events" of 'Park.'

2015 is the year of the sci-fi reboot. Jurassic World is at the top of that list. At the helm, Director Colin Trevorrow wants to remain respectful of the franchise that came before him but wants fans to know this is going to be a separate installment set "22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park."

Co-writing Jurassic Park 4, Trevorrow will be under supervision of original Jurassic Park director Steven Speilberg who has signed on as executive producer. Though Trevorrow understands the magnitude and attachment previous Park fans have to the originals, he seems excited about appealing to a new generation.

"We don't want to create a new scoop here, but we definitely want to honor what came before us," Trevorrow said earlier in the year. "We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time and really the conversation is: It's not about us, it's not about our careers, it's how do we make something that can stand with the first one."

Originally supposed to be out the summer of 2014, the official release date has since been changed to June 12, 2015 due to re-writes and production setbacks.

So far Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson have been confirmed for roles in the upcoming sci-fi action flick.
