Jupiter Ascending Release Date: To Premiere in Theaters on Feb. 6, 2015
The release date of the sci-fi film 'Jupiter Ascending' has now been delayed as issues related to CGI have come about during production. As a result, it has been officially announced that 'Jupiter Ascending' will hit the theaters on Feb. 6, 2015.
Meanwhile Warner Bros. domestic distribution chief Dan Fellman revealed that The Wachowskis require some more time to complete more than 2,000 special effects for the movie, in addition to preparing for an effectual marketing campaign.
A statement released by Fellman said, "With the July release date, they were just not going to make it on time," adding, "A lot of the issue for us was getting it ready for the international release, since the foreign territories need additional time."
However, not all fans are willing to buy the reasons given by the producers about the delay.
A number of fans are of the view that from the point of visual effects, Andy and Lana Wachowski are actually geared up to make the 'Jupiter Ascending' a masterpiece of perfection. There are others who believe that this may be an excuse for the creators to "revise" a possibly badly written movie plot.
Some fans believe that the producers cancelled the original July release date of the movie because it was being "sandwiched" between big titles like 'Transformers 4' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. These two films have already gained grip among their massive fan bases and also did well at the box office. However, critics were a little harsh on 'Transformers'.
'Jupiter Ascending' will feature Channing Tatum as Caine Wise, Mila Kunis as Jupiter Jones, Sean Bean as Stinger, Douglas Booth as Titus Abrasax and others. The main plot is about around Kunis' character, which involves her great genetic destiny as heir to Earth.
