Johnny Manziel Loses to Alabama in a Shootout 49 - 42, Throws Second Longest Touchdown Pass in Texas A&M History (VIDEO)

 

 

Johnny Manziel lived up to the hype tonight as he accumulated 562 total yards, 464 passing and 5 touchdowns against the Alabama Crimson Tide. 

This was a career best for Manziel and also set a school record. 

Unfortunately, he also had a crucial interception as well that ended up could have ended up deciding the game in the first half. Alabama's quarterback AJ McCarron threw for a career-high 334 yards and four touchdowns. 

Texas A&M opened up up to a 14 point lead but Alabama then took control at 35-14. 

A fumble for Alabama at the goal line and an eventual score got Texas A&M back in the game, but they could never pull back ahead. 

The game ended with Alabama on top 49 - 42. 

There were 1,196 total yards gained in the game, 628 by A&M and 568 by Alabama. But it was the costly turnovers that did Texas A&M in. 

"That's on me," Johnny Manziel said. "It's either our ball or nobody's. I know that, and I know better than that."

Texas A&M's Evans finished the game with a school record 279 yards on seven catches.
