John Schlitt: Free Download of "The Gift" on Valentine's Day
Grammy and Dove award winning Christian rock artist, and former lead singer of Petra, John Schlitt is giving away a free downloadable copy of his latest single "The Gift." The legendary singer's gift is off his 4th solo endeavor The Greater Cause and right in time for Valentine's Day.
Schlitt's wife Dorla inspired the song. The song also drew inspiration from Ecclesiastes 4:9, 12 ("two are better than one" and a "three-fold cord is not quickly broken"). That last line is very important to the message of the song. It's about a man and woman's relationship with each other and the God who made it possible.
"I know that the Lord brought us together and by his grace has kept us together for more than 40 years-through all the ups, the downs and everything in between" states Schlitt. "In all the years I've been involved in music I had never written a song about the amazing gift the Lord has given me in my wife. It was a joy to write this song for a lady who has been there for me for a long, long time and changed my life."
You can download your free copy at Schlitt's online store on Valentine's Day. After doing so you'll receive an email link that you can keep for yourself or share with friends or family.
