‘Jill and Jessa: Counting On’ News (Recap) : Ben Passes ‘Dad Test’ With Flying Colors?
Still struggling with parenting, Ben found himself trapped in a "dad test" in the March 29 episode of "Jill and Jessa: Counting On."
In the previous episode, Jessa left baby Spurgeon to Ben Seewald to have a coffee date with Jana Duggar and Anna Duggar. Excited to have a good time with the girls, she could not help but worry about how her better half's doing with the baby while she was away.
While Ben's was having jitters about not being able to stop Spurgeon when he cries or encountering a "diaper disaster" in the absence of Jessa, he gave "babysitting" a try.
Meanwhile at the coffee shop, Jessa cracked: "My husband's not available to babysit today, so I'm bringing Meredith along."
Still wondering about how things were going back home, Jessa was advised by Anna to check Ben's social media accounts and see if he's been posting stuff about babysitting, but she didn't buy it.
Back home, Ben faced the camera and admitted how struggling he was with parenting and how worried he was when he knew that Anna would leave him alone and unattended with Spurgeon.
"I guess my first thought was, 'Well, come back before too long!'" he quipped.
Ben first gained confidence as a dad when he was able to conquer his first fear: to change his son's diaper without a "diaper disaster." When Spurgeon fell asleep while he rocked him in his arms, Ben finally felt pretty impressed with his "daddy skills."
"I think next time this situation comes up, I'll be a little more confident because I'll have done it before," he said.
As Jessa went back home, she complimented her hubby for completing his task with flying colors.
"I had nothing to worry about. Ben had everything under control," she said to herself.
"Jill & Jessa: Counting On" airs on Tuesdays, 9:00 P.M. on TLC.
