Jessica Simpson Wedding: Simpson and Eric Johnson Finally Tie the Knot, Extravagant Party & Feast
After a three-year engagement, Jessica Simpson finally said "I do" to Eric Johnson. The couple exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch last Saturday in Montecito, California. Their 2-year old daughter, Maxwell, served as the flower girl, and their 1-year old son, Ace, was the ring bearer.
It has indeed been a long road for the happy couple since Johnson proposed in November 2010. The pair started dating four years ago after they were introduced by mutual friends.
More than 250 guests attended the wedding, including Jessica's sister Ashlee and her fiancé Evan Ross, Topher Grace and his girlfriend, Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren, and Johnson's friends from Yale and the NFL.
Jessica wore a custom Carolina Herrera gown for the big day. The majority of the women who attended the ceremony were dressed in delicately-colored gowns in various shades of champagne, gold, pink, and turquoise, while male guests looked dashing in their black tuxedos and suits with either bow or black ties.
The couple had their guests enjoy a selection of hors d'oeuvres and drinks after the ceremony, followed by a scrumptious gourmet three-course meal.
Jessica and Eric spared no expense for the wedding as they even had a pre-wedding 4th of July party for everyone. The festivities included a cocktail hour with appetizers such as lobster dogs, corn fritters and a shellfish station. There was also a Southern-style buffet where everyone feasted on beef brisket, baby back ribs, fried chicken, along with numerous side dishes. Party-goers also enjoyed a photo booth, games for the kids, and sparklers to mark the national holiday and their impending nuptial.
The couple beamed all throughout the weekend celebrations and said that "they were overwhelmed with complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment".
