Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey News: Former 98 Degrees Member Talks About Ex-Wife Jessica Simpson

During his recent appearance on a radio show, 98 degrees singer Nick Lachey talked about his former wife and Hollywood celebrity Jessica Simpson. Apparently, Lachey sees that it was a blessing in disguise, not ending up with Simpson.

In his interview on the Jenny McCarthy's SiriusXM's radio show, Lachey revealed his thoughts about his ex-wife, "I think in our situation, that was probably the best thing that could have ever happened is that we didn't have kids," he said to Jenny.

"All things being equal, it was the best thing probably for the both of us that we went on with our lives and she's obviously happily married with two [kids]. I'm happy married about to have two so it all worked out the way it was supposed to work out."

The former married couple were together for three years and had their short-termed married life aired on MTV's reality show series 'Newlyweds'. Upon their split in 2005, Lachey admitted that he is currently not close with the singer and actress.

"I wouldn't say it's friends, but I wouldn't say it's enemies. There's just no contact," Lachey said, "We've both moved on with our lives and I think we're very happy with the way it went. It's not animosity, it's not friendship, it's just kind of nothing," the former boy band member added.

Lachey is now married to Vanessa Lachey and has a son Camden, age two, and a little girl reportedly on the way. Meanwhile Simpson is now married to Eric Johnson with two kids Maxwell, age two, and Ace, 16 months.

So far, Lachey is focused on being a good husband to his pregnant wife and keeps her calm when there's a problem.

"It's whatever she says, goes. I've learned it the hard way. The second time around, I'm much more passive with this whole process," Lachey said. He added, "As a man, you also appreciate what your partner is going through and the transformation they're going through and all the stuff that comes with it. The least we could do is be agreeable."
