Jeremy Lin's 'Linsanity' Enough to Make Him an All-Star This Year?
Many NBA fans have debated whether or not Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin is a superstar in the same vein as LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, and Chris Paul, and with the all-star looming he may make it.
Linsanity is averaging 14.2 points, 4.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game in his second season with the Houston Rockets.
However, his performance may not be enough to make the All-Star team due to the fact he is now the Rockets sixth man and his role is now being a ball passer in a team with two other scorers, James Harden and Dwight Howard.
Ever since Linsanity erupted at Madison Square Garden three years ago, the size of his supporters has grown tremendously.
Lin also starred in a documentary movie titled Linsanity, which showed his rise from anonymity and his important relationship with Jesus Christ as he overcomes multiple adversities not only in his professional basketball career, but his life.
Perhaps there's no larger sign that Lin is an NBA star than with his newest endorsement deal with German sports clothing and shoe manufacturer, Adidas. After Lin's shoe deal with Nike expired, Adidas seized the chance to add him in their publicized group of athletes such as Howard, John Wall, Damian Lillard, and Derrick Rose.
"I'm really excited to join the Adidas family," said Lin in a press release Adidas dispensed on January 6. "They've changed the game with new technology and style and I can't wait to be a part of it."
Lin's rising support base is not only found in America but also in the Asian market, which was the main reason Adidas acquired Lin as their representative.
"Jeremy's relentless drive, passion for the game and background of leading winning teams throughout his career makes him a perfect fit for the Adidas brand," said Adidas Head of global basketball sports marketing Chris Grancio in a release.
Lin's diligence and perseverance has propelled him from anonymity to super-stardom. Now, Lin is gaining the profits of his hard work. In spite of his accomplishments, he has remained humble due to his faith in God.
