Jeremy Lin News: Linsanity Hosts Fan Appreciation Week After Kobe Bryant Talk (VIDEO)

Newest Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jeremy Lin recently revealed what future NBA HOF Kobe Bryant told him in regards to hosting his Fan Appreciation Week from August 4 to August 8.

"We'd exchange texts, I was in Shanghai at the time, we've talked a little bit here or there." said Lin to reporters in reference to Bryant's message, according to an IB Times report, "The one thing he told me is 'We have a lot of work to do' and I think that's 100 percent accurate. As long as we come in with that mindset of really having to work and earn everything, I think we'll be okay.

Lin was traded (along with a 2015 first and second round pick) by the Houston Rockets to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for the rights to Sergei Lishouk on July 13, 2014.

"The thing I like about Jeremy is that he's feisty," said new Lakers Head coach Byron Scott to Basketball Insider's writer Alex Kennedy in a recent interview, "He's tough. He competes. I've coached against him in a number of games, so I know how he is. He's a competitor. The point guard position in this league today, on the defensive end, is vital."

Jeremy Lin is currently hosting his 2nd Annual Fan Appreciation Week this week, highlighted by fans getting the opportunity to win a prize after sending their best videos on Instagram this Wednesday.

Tomorrow, Lin will host a Q-and-A session on Facebook and Weibo.

On August 8, The devout Christian athlete will preside over an art contest to close out this year's Fan Appreciation Week.

Previously, Lin hosted a photograph caption challenge on August 4, before he gave his Twitter fans a multiple choice quiz on Tuesday.

After this week, Lin will be solely concentrating on his upcoming first season with the Lakers to try and bring a NBA title back to Los Angeles.

"I had the opportunity to play with Carmelo, James Harden and Kobe. I can learn a lot from him," said Lin, according to Lakers Nation website.
