Jeremy Lin News 2014: Linsanity 'Wants to Win' NBA Championship With Kobe Bryant (VIDEO)
Jeremy Lin, the young NBA star, has just revealed that he and his Los Angeles Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant have something in common, and he believes it could help them combine to win the NBA Championship sometime in the coming seasons.
"Kobe wants to win and I want to win. I think Kobe wants his teammates to train hard and I will train hard. I hope he can respect me and we can collaborate well together," said Lin to reporters at a press conference in his parents' native land of Taiwan.
Lin's future NBA Hall of Fame teammate has currently five NBA titles (2000-2002, 2009-2010) in his legendary career, and the 25-year-old California native is hoping he can be one of the contributing members of a potential championship winning team in the near future.
"I am very excited to join the Lakers. I think this is a very good opportunity. I hope I can make a bigger contribution ... I hope I can play a more important role," said Lin.
Lin was the first American of Chinese or Taiwanese descent to play in the NBA, when the Christian athlete made his debut with the Golden State Warriors as a bench player in 2010.
"I have heard that he is among the players who want to win the most, and so am I," said Lin, according to a Focus Taiwan report.
In addition to the upcoming season, Lin is very thrilled to visit the East Asian nation that is very near and dear to his heart.
"I am happy to be in Taiwan," said Lin. "I've been looking forward to seeing my fans."
Lin will be reunited with his friend (and former New York Knicks teammate) Toronto Raptors player Steve Novak when both men plan to do promotional work for the Adidas shoe company this Saturday and Sunday.
In addition, Lin is scheduled to appear on a Christian television station named GOOD TV on July 23 to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ in Taiwan.
