Jeremy Lin Lakers News: Linsanity 'Very Surprised' to Play in Los Angeles With Kobe Bryant (VIDEO)

Newest Los Angeles Lakers player Jeremy Lin recently talked about his reaction regarding the Houston Rockets trading him to one of NBA's prestigious franchises in history.

"I thought personally that I might be going to the [Philadelphia] 76ers or New York [Knicks]," said Lin during his recent trip to China, according to a HITC Sports report, "I hadn't heard about LA wanting to sign me, not even once from later this month, but then I was told about it. I'm very surprised."

Lin is hoping to help Kobe Bryant's team reach the playoffs after the Californian squad finished this past season with a dreadful 27-55 record.

"The Lakers' management are very busy right now because they don't have a coach [after Mike D'Antoni resigned on April 30, 2014] and they also need to introduce many players," said Lin, "They were so busy when I went to meet them, I just had a brief meeting with them. But they told me I'll have more court time with the Lakers than in Houston."

Lakers' General Manager Mitch Kupchak issued the following comment in regards to recent trade that brought the 25-year-old California native back home.

"This trade allows us to acquire a solid player who will make us a better team, as well as draft picks to improve our team in the future, while at the same time allowing us to maintain financial flexibility," said Kupchak in a statement last week, "In addition to what he'll bring us on the court, we think Jeremy will be warmly embraced by our fans and our community."

Lin is entering his fifth season in the NBA, and he hopes that he can aid Bryant and the Lakers win their first championship since 2010.
