Jeremy Lin LA Lakers News: Lin Talks Kobe Bryant vs Carmelo Anthony, James Harden
The newest Los Angeles Lakers player, Jeremy Lin, revealed the differences between his current teammate Kobe Bryant and his former colleagues, James Harden and Carmelo Anthony.
According to an Orange County Register report, Lin revealed what makes the longtime Lakers legend so different from other superstars like Melo and Harden.
"How hard he [Kobe] works and his attention to detail. The stuff that he thinks about or talks about, only someone who is really trying to analyze every single thing... about the game would be able to understand something like that," said Lin, according to Orange County Register reporter Bill Oram via Twitter.
The 26-year-old Torrance, California native also talked about his hurt teammate Nick Young's persona (aka Swaggy P), who is currently dealing with right thumb injury.
"I call him Nick Young, He's super cool, but I just find it ridiculous that everyone comes in here and just calls him Swaggy. You've got to earn it or something. And maybe he has, but I just got here. Maybe I'll adopt it eventually. I guess there just has to be something that I see -- that when I look at him he just glows with 'swaggyness.' I'm not there yet," said Lin, according to a LA Times report.
"No one calls me 'Linsanity.' No one calls [Kobe Bryant] the 'Black Mamba.' That's why I think it's ridiculous that people call him Swaggy P. He's hilarious. He's really cool. Just out of respect for him, eight years in, if he wants me to call him Swaggy P, I guess I will."
Lin revealed in a recent interview his thoughts about facing his former team, the Houston Rockets, in an upcoming game later this month at the Staples Center.
"To be honest, I think I'm a subplot," said Lin to Lakers Nation, "I'm glad, but it's not an opening night centered around me. It's more Kobe and Dwight."
Lin also mentioned the pressure he will experience facing the Rockets and how it would be similar to when he returned to Madison Square Garden in New York, as a member of the Houston Rockets a few years ago.
"It kind of reminds me of me going back to New York. Every time I go back to New York now, it's not really as nearly a big of a deal. It was James versus Melo, and now it's Kobe versus Melo. So, I do think it'll be fun. It'll be interesting. I think we're all pretty excited for the game," said Lin.
Lin's Los Angeles Lakers will battle his former team (Houston Rockets) on Opening Night at the Staples Center on October 28 at 7:30 pm at the TNT Network.
