Jennifer Lopez Billboard Awards 2014: Triple Threat Entertainer Honored with Icon Award; J-Lo Thanked God, Her Family, and Fans (VIDEO)

At last nights 2014 Billboard Awards Jennifer Lopez was the first woman in history to ever win the Billboard Icon Award. The triple threat entertainer was extremely grateful for the honor and by the sound of her thank you speech at the core of all she does is God, her family, and her loyal support system.

The singer who is on the verge of releasing her 10th studio album topped off her acceptance speech by thanking God, despite all of the media painting that as a cliché.

"Music has always been my first love and I thank God, I thank my fans, and I thank my friends, my family that I've been able to do all this all these years and through ten albums," Lopez said.

Her journey started off as a dancer, then an actor, and then a global musical sensation. Lopez' first album, On The 6, was released in 1999, and the Bronx native has gone on to sell millions of records since.

The Billboard Award was bestowed on the singer by a video featuring a slew of entertainers in the industry honoring the singer by expressing their thoughts on her and the impact she has made in the mainstream entertainment.

Lopez performed and accepted her Icon Award in a sparkly one-sleeved black and gold jumpsuit. The mother of twins emotionally read her thank you speech from the teleprompter. She went on to thank everyone in the music industry that impacted her life from the very beginning until now. She especially got emotional when she thanked her children Max and Emi. "You are the light of my life and the reason for anything and everything that I do," she stated.

She encouraged the Latin community in Spanish with a message she reiterated in English. "All you little ones sitting on the living room floor watching the TV right now, just like I use to do when I was back in the Bronx, have faith, dream big, think big and know that anything is possible," she said. She ended her speech with, "You never know where you might end up."
