Outgoing 'Dancing with the Stars' cast Maksim Chmerkovskiy and super star Jennifer Lopez have sparked romance rumors ever since the dance pro showed up at the 45-year-old singer's birthday bash in Southampton New York's Nammos Estiatorrio last July 24th.

During an interview at Westbury in New York for his 'Sway: A Dance Trilogy' performance, Chmerkovskiy avoided questions about his relationship status with Lopez. The 34-year-old merely stated that he was not 'interested' in answering questions other than those about show or his performance that night.

The 'Dancing with the Stars' performer also declined to give a clear answer when he was asked if the 'American Idol' host would be part of the audience for his 'Sway' number that night. Chmerkovskiy simply asserted that a number of his friends would be coming to see the show. Lopez, however, did not turn up as which is what many had expected.

Lopez and Chmerkovskiy first sparked dating rumors when they were seen together at a night club called The Shrine in Connecticut shortly after the 'Maid in Manhattan' star split with her estranged lover, Casper Smart. The two were photographed cozying up to each other at the club just hours after the professional dancer was spotted in Lopez's show earlier that night which was held in the same city.

The "Dance Again" singer was performing at the Foxwoods Casino when Maksim was first publicly seen showing his support for the world-famous singer-actress.

Although Lopez and Chmerkovskiy have been drawing dating rumors since earlier last month, a report recently published by People Magazine says that the suspected couple is 'just friends' according to sources close to them. Lopez has not commented on any of the rumors so far.
