Jason Crabb Wishes 'Christian Music' was Not Restricted and Feels Love is the Cure for The Disconnect Society Has to Each Other
Grammy and Dove Award-winning Christian singer Jason Crabb recently opened up to TheBlaze about the state of society being affected by the lack of love for one another. He also says the Christian music industry's platform is limited.
Crabb said people are busy looking for "something bigger," but a simple act of caring for someone can go a long way. "It's what we do for others and how we treat others. That's one of the things that I feel our culture has gotten away from," Crabb said. "How we view each other as individuals, as women, men - how we view our kids and how we raise them."
The singer said that we could potentially get back to a good place if we returned to loving "our neighbor as our self."
"I found that the older I get, I see how strong the love of Christ is - how he wants us to love one another no matter what, and that's what I've learned with Christ and that's the message I'm finding to be so encouraging to people," he said.
Crabb also addressed his heart for the young celebrities that have been in trouble lately, and said that he felt for these singers who have been going in the "wrong direction."
"I think truthfully when you get to a ... status level - a music artist who does secular music and is very very, very successful and they've got all the money - at the end of the day they've got to look up and say, 'There's got to be more to life than this,'" he expressed to TheBlaze. "I just think that everybody is searching."
"Some reach out in the wrong direction," he continued.
Crabb, a PK, grew up in the church and accredited the Lord for all of his and his family's success. He went on to speak about the Christian music industry, and explained that there are both pros and cons to being in that particular circle.
He also spoke of what he loves about the Christian industry, which is the encouragement he gets from working with people who "really have a relationship with Christ" and who are not just making music to make it.
What others in the Christian field can possibly attest to is what Crabb said is the downside of the Christian industry. "You don't have as many outlets," he said. "Christian music a lot of times would never get looked at even though some of the greatest singers in the world started in Christian music or are in Christian music."
Love has been a theme for Crabb. Watch his music video for "Love Is Stronger" below:
