Jars of Clay New Album, Live EP & DVD 2013
Jars of Clay have been in the studio since late last year recording their 11th studio album that is said to be released at the end of this summer 2013.
The band, originally from Nashville, Tennessee met in Greenville, Illinois at the local college and started their astonishing career in 1993 and hit Christian and mainstream success with their song, "Flood" off of their debut album in 1995.
The band has just finished up touring in 2012 with Leagues and Matthew Perryman Jones across the states on the "Jars of Clay Spring Tour". The tour was a huge hit with fans across the nine dates performed.
During the tour, Jars of Clay clearly announced the importance of their non-profit organization "Blood: Water Mission", an organization that empowers communities to work against AIDS/HIV and water crisis in sub-Saharan Africa. The band founded the organization in 2005 and have continued to raise awareness throughout their shows.
Jars of Clay had performed a live show in Sellersville, PA in 2011 that was recorded and supposed to be distributed as a live DVD, but it never came threw. Yet, on March 18, the band announced that they would be releasing the video with a 6-song EP. The video "Under the Weather-Live from Sellersville, PA" will be available from the bands site and will contain bonus goodies for anyone who downloads it directly from the Jars of Clay website.
"These performances are some of our favorites and we think you are going to love them. If you did not get a chance to see us play this past year, this is for you. If you did see us play...this is for you." stated Jars of Clay.
This summer, Jars of Clay will be featured at the "SoulFest" music festival in New England that lasts four days and four nights. The festival is a Christian music festival/ family retreat that has five different stages where over 100 artists perform. Wether the artists or fans are staying on campgrounds, hotel, or cabins, the experience at the festival is inspiring for families, churches and youth groups.
This summers festival is including Jars of Clay, Skillet, Chris Tomlin, Jason Upton and many more. This year marks Soul Fest 16th birthday and the festival is holding a theme to celebrate its 16 years of inspiration. The theme for this year is true love transforms, and the festival encourages people believe in true love through Jesus.
Jars of Clay will be announcing the release and title of their new album hopefully before the beginning of summer.
