iWatch Release Date September 9? Sepcs Include Fitness Tracker, Voice Commands, HomeKit

The most anticipated technological device from Apple is rumored to be unveiled at a special event on September 9, according to John Paczkowski, an American journalist and blogger at Re/code. The news first broke out in 2013 about a certain "watch" that would emulate functions of a smartphone. However, its production did not push through at the time.

A number of manufacturers such as LG and Samsung have also drafted proprietary wearable smartwatches projects that are similar to independent companies like Pebble and Cookoo. Though the public has very little knowledge about the design of the new product, CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the iWatch is indeed a real thing.

"I think for something to work here, you first have to convince people it's so incredible that they want to wear it," Cook said in a press conference last year.

However, the Wall Street Journal published that the iWatch is most likely to come with curved glass and multiple screen size variants for the consumer to choose from. Various sizes from 1.3 inches to 2.5 inches are also predicted, but none of which have been confirmed by Apple.

It's interesting that there is a possibility that the preview of the iWatch will be made alongside the release of iPhone 6. Apple's patented wearable device will be equipped with the HealthKit for fitness tracking and HomeKit used to remotely control home equipments such as monitors, refrigerators, light-bulbs, and thermostats, among other things.

A Siri-compatible program is also expected to follow Apple's voice command services for navigation and web search purposes. iWatch's potential market price is still on the blurry side, but current trends will most likely peg the device as a major competitor to other big brands.
