Italy will face Costa Rica on June 20 after both squads defeated their respective challengers in their previous games, when the World Cup tournament started last week.

After defeating England by a score of 2-1 on June 14, the Italian national team will attempt to extend their winning streak to two games when the go head-to-head against Costa Rica.

After their match with the Costa Rica, Italy will face Uruguay on June 24.

Italy's team is the second most successful side in World Cup history, winning the prestigious title a remarkable 4 times (1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006).

"You have to face them prepared to play to the death because everyone would have predicted a victory for Uruguay," said Italian player Daniele De Rossi to reporters.

"I remember we played there [in Recife] last year in the Confederations Cup against Japan [Italy defeated Japan by 4-3 in the quarter-finals round], and we suffered from the heat as well as Japan's speed. The game against Costa Rica is seen as the most dangerous game, because we play at 1pm local time and it will be really difficult."

Costa Rica recently defeated Uruguay by the score of 3-1 in their match on June 14. After their game versus Italy, Coast Rica will battle England on June 24.

Costa Rica is looking for an upset win against Italy in their upcoming Group D matchup.
