Defending champions, Mumbai Indians, will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the last match of the first phase of the Indian Premier League 2014 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

It has been a disappointing tournament for both MI and SRH so far. Although both teams have played four matches each, defending champions Mumbai is yet to win a single match this season; Hyderabad has a solitary win against Delhi Daredevils. Both the teams now occupy the lowest berths in the points table with 0 and 2 points respectively.

In their last outing, Mumbai lost to Delhi Daredevils, while Hyderabad was crushed by Chennai Super Kings. Hence, both teams would be keenly vying for two precious points, before the second leg of the tournament moves on to Bangladesh from May 1.

Despite the presence of skipper Rohit Sharma, and star batsmen like Kieron Pollard, Michael Hussey and Corey Anderson in their ranks, Mumbai has failed to put up a challenging score while batting first or chase even a modest target. Despite a lot of firepower, the batsmen have failed to justify their reputation. In fact, Hussey has been the only player to score a half century this season. Today, the team will look up to its star batsmen to deliver the goods.

On the other hand, the bowling attack of Mumbai has been fairly effective. Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard and spinner Pragyan Ojha have done reasonable work, but veterans Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh have virtually proven to be a burden for the team.

Similarly, even Hyderabad's batting line-up failed to strike in unison to rescue the team from successive debacles. The only time Hyderabad skipper Shikar Dhavan, David Warner and Aaron Finch lived up to their reputation, the team won against Delhi Daredevils. If they want to win the match against Mumbai, the top three batsmen need to put up sufficient runs on the board.
