When Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) lock horn in Match 38 of the Pepsi Indian Premier League 2014 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday, both teams will be looking for two valuable points.

After an enthusiastic start in IPL 7, Bangalore is now struggling to remain in the race for the title. The fancied team is placed second last with just six points from nine outings. Delhi, on the other hand, is at the bottom of the table with just four points from an equal number of games.

In the last match against Rajasthan Royals, Bangalore suffered due to their bowling and fielding performances and need to sort out things if they really want to keep their chances of winning the tournament alive. Delhi too is a demoralized side after their loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in their last encounter and is desperate to beat Bangalore to bounce back in the tournament.

Despite a formidable batting line-up, which includes the explosive West Indian Chris Gayle, skipper Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Yuvraj Singh, Bangalore were unable to win the last three matches, largely due to the poor performance of its bowling department. However, with Yuvraj returning to form with the bat and the ball, the team can expect an inspired performance against lowly placed Delhi.

For Delhi, skipper Kevin Pieterson is the man to watch out. With Pieterson returning to the team, Delhi's woes with the top order batting seems to have been solved to some extent. If Pieterson is able to play up to his reputation today, Kedar Jadhav and JP Duminy will be able to take off from a solid platform to build a challenging score.

In all, the Delhi players seem to be lacking in confidence and they need some inspiration before they take on Bangalore on their home turf. For Bangalore, this could possibly be the last opportunity to ensure a place in the play-offs.
