IPL 2014 Final Live Stream Free, Start Time: Watch KKR vs KXIP Online
It will be a battle to relish when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) meets Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the final match of the 2014 Indian Premier League at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, on Sunday.
Veteran Virendra Sehwag, who played an explosive innings to pave the way for KXIP's entry into their maiden IPL final, in the company of Glenn Maxwell and David Miller will pose the biggest threat for KKR, who are strongly backing their powerful bowling department, especially Sunil Narine.
Kolkata won the title previously in 2012, but this is the first ever finals for Punjab in the seven seasons of IPL T20 so far.
However, it will be a daunting task for Kolkata to lift the trophy for the second time, as they are faced with a formidable opponent this season. They have to deal with the explosive Australian batting sensation Maxwell, who is among the top run-getters this season.
Punjab, which has a strong middle-order in Miller, Manan Vohra, skipper George Bailey and Wriddhiman Saha, should not be too concerned over Maxwell's recent lean patch of late.
On the other hand, Kolkata will certainly rely on the advantage of the fact that Punjab, which almost seemed to be invincible during the group stage, have lately been suffering from some hitches. Kolkata beat them comprehensively in the Qualifier 1 at the Eden Gardens on May 28.
Kolkata just won two of their first seven matches, and were virtually written off midway through the league. However, they bounced back in style to secure a playoff berth winning all their eight subsequent matches - thanks to Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, skipper Gautam Gambhir and, of course, Narine.
In addition to Yusuf and Uthappa, who may thwart Punjab's dream of winning the title for the first time, the slow bowlers will likely play a crucial role. Kolkata would definitely have an advantage in Narine.
When all is said and done, the finals will be a test between Maxwell and Narine.
The match can be watched live on GoCricket.com and SkyCricket.net from 10:00 a.m. ET (3:30 p.m. BST).
It will also be broadcast on Maasaranga TV in Bangladesh, CSN in Sri Lanka, SuperSport in Africa, StarHub in Singapore, PCCW in Hong Kong, Astro in Malaysia, EMTV in Papua New Guinea, Sky NZ in New Zealand, ITV in the United Kingdom, Sportsnet in Canada.
