iPhone 6S Release Rumors: Tech Site Says Apple Not Manufacturing 4-Inch Mini iPhone
After the great success of its latest flagship smartphones - the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, which were launched in September 2014, there were widespread rumors that Apple was contemplating to revert to the days of the smaller iPhones and launch a new 4-inch model purportedly called the iPhone 6s. However, recently the Chinese website Feng reported that the Cupertino-based tech titan has no such plans.
The Chinese website says that the former had contacted Apple's supply chain for precise information in this regard and came to know that Apple has yet to initiate any move for manufacturing the supposed 4-inch model of its current flagship smartphone. Many believe that this is an indication that iPhone manufacturer still does not have any plans to manufacture the purported device.
Mac Rumors offered a translated version of the article published in Feng and it reads, "Wei Feng network today through Apple's supply chain has learned about the 4-inch screen iPhone 6S argument is just hype. Supply chain sources said that Apple has not made ??any new production tasks iPhone 4 inches to parts of the supply chain, and therefore will be launched on 4-inch screen Apple iPhone 6s argument is not true - at least so far."
Rumors regarding the possibility of Apple producing an iPhone 6S surfaced online for the first time three months after Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. It seems that a number of Apple fans were disappointed with the large handsets as it is not easy to handle them with one hand, and demanded that the company produce a smaller device having the same features.
Meanwhile, Tech Radar has not entirely ruled out the possiblity of Apple coming out with the purported iPhone 6S (many have also named it the iPhone 6S mini or iPhone 6C). The tech-based website has said that while the device may not be in production right now, there is always a possibility that Apple will introduce it sometime in the future.
