iPhone 6 Rumors: Release September 20 with iOS 7, Apple Announcement September 10? Apple to Skip iPhone 5S? Low Cost iPhone 2013?

Though Apple has yet to confirm official release dates many believe the iPhone 6 [or iPhone 5S] will be released September 20. Reports indicate an announcement will be made September 10.

Though Apple has yet to confirm any specific details regarding iOS 7, many believe it will be released simultaneously with the new iPhone5.

Again this still all hearsay at the moment, but most believe Apple will release it's interim iPhone 5S fall 2013 and wait until next year to make a major update in 2014 with the iPhone 6. If so, Apple will boost the processor modestly, add a couple features [maybe a slightly enhanced camera] along with a few other nifty updates.

However, competitors like Samsung are gaining a lot of ground on Apple with their Galaxy series. The Galaxy S4 is hands down the best phone on paper. Will Apple do away with the "S" naming convention and leap to the iPhone 6 altogether?

Apple insider Ken Segall on the "S" update:

This is the model that delivers only incremental improvements. More important, tacking an S onto the existing model number sends a rather weak message. It says that this is our "off-year" product, with only modest improvements. If holding off on the big number change achieved some great result, I might think otherwise."

Rumors of a low cost iPhone has also buzzed around the Web. Though it seems like a good decision to offer a budget-friendly version of their flagship device, there aren't any firm details supporting production of the new device.

As September draws nearer we should have a few more concrete details regarding the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S.
