iPhone 6 Release Date, Rumors, Specs: 2 Screen Sizes, Both With Retina

If the pattern holds true, and with previous releases in mind, techies can assume that Apple will release their new product, iPhone 6, in September. However, speculation has emerged that the new smart device will launch sooner than expected with an August release.

The specs of the new iPhone 6 result in two possible screen sizes, a 4.7-inch screen and a larger 5.6-inch version.

Both versions will have Retina displays with a 1704 x 960 resolution and there are rumors that say iPhone 6 will match the LG G3 qHD resolution screen. They might also incorporate a slightly curved designed, but will not go as far as the LG G Flex.

When it comes to the display, iPhone 6 is expected to be much thinner than its predecessors. They are aiming to make it to 66mm wide and 7.0 mm thick, just enough to be pocket-sized.

There are also changes on the power button. Instead of having it to the top, they will put it to the side to maximize the form of the device. Also, it is said that they will offer the device in three colors, silver, white, and gold.

Another interesting rumor is that they might add something called the "Sapphire Glass," which is said to be extremely strong and is designed to be scratch-resistant.

The processor will more likely be an "A8" type, just like the other Apple handsets.

They are also competing with Android in terms of battery life. Since iPhone 6 is expected to have quad-core processors, it will surely need a long-lasting battery, "As for battery life, Android is really starting to get on top of this now, so Apple will be working hard to play catch up," according to Digital Spy.

Some conflicting rumors state that the release of the iPhone 6 will not happen until 2015, but Apple fans rest assured that at least something from the Cupertino-headquarted tech titan will launch before the year's end.
