iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors: September 2014 Date Becomes Highly Possible

Fans of the iPhone may have to wait for a few more months before they can get their hands on the phone's newest version"”the iPhone 6.

According to a survey of 4,109 US consumers, the iPhone 6 is the most anticipated Apple smartphone ever, with interest easily overshadowing that of the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5. It was initially believed that the iPhone 6 was going to debut in 2013, but given the iPhone's history, there has always been an S-model before the next numbered iPhone.

Experts are saying that the iPhone 6 will be released in September, which would fit in with the rollout of the newly announced iOS 8. There is also a possibility that more than one Apple handset will be released this year. KGI Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is speculating that two new iPhones will be released, with a 4.7 inch iPhone coming out towards the end of the third quarter, and a 5.5 inch iPhablet hitting the market late in the fourth quarter.

Other rumors point to a simultaneous launch for both sizes in September, though whispers about Apple's production problems with the 5.5 model have been reported. More recent rumors are also claiming a September launch"”September 19, to be exact. Other sources are saying that the iPhone 6 won't be released until September 25.

Meanwhile, Reuters has reported that Apple has gone on a massive hiring spree at factories in China to keep up with the demand for the iPhone 6.

The iPhone 6 is expected to retail at $850 for the 4.7 model, and $960 for the 5.5 iPhablet.
