iPhone 6 Release Date, Rumors: Apple May Release 2 Versions, 1st In September 2014

Apple Inc. is expected to release its latest smartphone, purportedly called iPhone 6, during the Fall. According to rumors, the new device will comprise a larger redesigned form factor and come with 4.7" and 5.5" diagonal screens. While the 4.7" model is likely to be launched first, sometime in September, the 5.5" model will be introduced in 2015.

Both models of the upcoming smartphone are expected to have a greater resolution due to their larger displays, perhaps at 1704 x 906, a pixel-tripled resolution which would provide the 4.7-inch model a pixel density of 416, while the 5.5-inch model will have a pixel density of 365.

Even as Apple has been experimenting with an assortment of screen sizes, the Cupertino-headquarted tech behemoth has also acknowledged consumer demand for phones with larger displays in one of its own internal presentations. It now appears that the company is planning to address the section of market that has been craving for bigger phones.

Another report says that a supposed dummy of iPhone 6 was seen and uploaded online this week, and the appearance of the device seemed to reside somewhat between the iPhone 5s and the HTC One M8. The alleged iPhone 6 also seemed to be more slender compared to iPhone 5s. However, the validity of the picture is yet to be ascertained.

In fact, the photo of the purpoted iPhone comes from Jimmy Lin, a movie star from Taiwan; he posted a photograph of himself with the supposedly latest smartphone from Apple. While GSM Arena was the first to report the issue, it is believed that the photograph has been sourced to a Korean publication. The photograph also appears to confirm rumors that the upcoming smartphone's design has been inspired from iPod touch.

The new device is expected to have a sapphire crystal screen and come with a faster and additionally efficient A8 chip.
