iPhone 6 Release Date: Pre-Orders Before Official Launch in China? Website Taking Early Orders?

The highly-anticipated upcoming Apple flagship product the iPhone 6 is allegedly being pre-ordered in China before its September 9 official release.

Although three days remain before Apple unveils its next-generation device on Sept. 9, China Mobile's branch in Beijing is already supposedly taking pre-orders for the smartphone.

An online Chinese media firm, Sina Tech, revealed the site where pre-order forms can be submitted. However, the page does not contain the words "iPhone 6," but a picture of an apple with a "6" in front of it instead.

The promotional display showcases a dubious smartphone that people can start ordering already. It also shows two phones that are assumed to be the sizes of Apple's devices: a 4.7-inch and a 5.5-inch model, displayed in handset illustrations.

According to the report, there are more than 8,000 pre-orders on the said device already, and the numbers are increasing.

Previous reports claim that Apple will unveil two variants of the iPhone 6 to the public.

One is a smallter iPhone 6, a 4.7 inch handset which is rumored to have a retail price of 5288 Yuan (approximately $860). The 32 GB version of the handset is presumed to be priced at 6,080 Yuan ($990), while the 64 GB version priced at 6,888 Yuan ($1121), according to iPhone in Canada.

Meanwhile, the other handset, the iPhone 6 "Pro," the 5.5 inch version will allegedly have a retail price of 6,288 Yuan (approximately $1,023).

Reports from the UK and Netherlands also reveal pre-orders of the highly-anticipated handset, according to iPhone in Canada.

Apple is expected to reveal the iPhone 6 on Tuesday Sept. 9 followed by a store release date on Friday Sept. 19.
