iPhone 6 with Larger 4.8 Inch Screen, iPad Mini Retina Delayed
Is a bigger iPhone 6 coming?
Citi research is speaking of the iPhone 6 to have a 4.8 inch screen and to launch in the first quarter of 2014.
The iPhone 5 has just a 4-inch screen, so this shows that Apple is paying close attention to the competition as the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5-inch screen. This would put the 2 at roughly the same size.
There are obviously many pros and cons to a bigger screen and device.
On the pros, you could have a better viewing experience when watching a movie or streaming a sports game.
On the cons side, sometimes big is just bulky. Most guys carry their phones in their pockets and at some point it just gets uncomfortable. Also, it can get harder to maneuver with one hand and no one wants to have to use two hands to work their phone.
Also, the iPad Mini Retina could be on hold now until either the fourth quarter of 2013 or the first quarter of 2014.
The iPad Mini 2 is expected to have a lower price tag of $230-250 compared to $329 which is what the current iPad Mini sells for.
Until recently, many were unaware that Apple would make a new iPad Mini 2 and a iPad Mini Retina display, they thought it would be just one device, the iPad Mini 2 with Retina Display.
The new iPad 5 is expected to have a slimmer and lighter feel and be 9.7 inches.
The third quarter of this year is expected to be the last quarters that the iPad 2 and iPad 4 will be in production.
