iPhone 5S vs iPhone 5: Specs, Release Date / Is the iPhone 5S Worth the Wait? Should Apple Fans Just Buy iPhone 5?

If the iPhone 5 is outselling the brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 then it must be a pretty great iPhone. If it's so great, is there a need to buy an iPhone 5S? We've learned through the years, Apple's "S" naming convention is just another way of sucking out cash via a minimally updated iPhone. It begs the question: if the iPhone 5 is the best phone on the market, should we even bother with a new iPhone 5S?

Let's take a look at the new rumors concerning specs and features of the new iPhone 5S and decide!

After photos of an alleged iPhone 5S processor leaked online recently, Apple theorists have concluded the new iPhone will come with an updated A7 chip rather than an updated A6. A brand new processor would usually be reserved for a brand new iPhone [a la iPhone 6, expected in 2014].

Based on other reports the new iPhone 5S will improve upon its previous 8-megapixel camera [probably opting for 13-megapixel]. Previously leaked photos also show a dual-LED flash on the rear-facing camera, helping with the iPhone 5's notorious low-light photo quality.

As far as release date, its not secret Apple usually waits until September to unveil most of its new product line. Fortunately this year's September launch should coincide with IFA 2013 in Berlin, where Samsung is expected to reveal it's new Galaxy note 3. Launching the iPhone 5S in September would also fit perfectly with the new iOS 7 expected Fall 2013.

Basically if you want a slightly faster, better battery, and 13 megapixel camera, spend your money on the iPhone 5S later this year. If you're willing to hold out for an iPhone 6 you'll probably get your money's worth. Still if you're not a die hard Apple fan, you could probably just opt for the iPhone 5 when the 5S comes out. It'll probably be $100 and well worth the minor drawbacks.
