iPhone 5S Fingerprint Sensor Feature Going to Happen with New Apple Smartphone

iPhone 5S has long been rumored to unveil a fingerprint sensor but now there is some concrete evidence that Apple is officially moving in that direction.

Apple has bought the fingerprint sensor company Authentec to get the fingerprint technology needed.  Yesterday a leaked folder was shown from a iOS 7 beta release that confirms a fingerprint sensor for the iPhone 5S.

The new sensor feature will be use to unlock the screen to access the phone. However, there has been no confirmation yet exactly how the sensor will work.

With the new biometric fingerprint sensor locked up for the new iPhone 5S release, other smartphone companies will be sure to hurry and add it to their new devices to compete with Apple for the holidays and into 2014.

Do you think iPhone will create a new standard with the fingerprint sensor or do you think it will be something that will not catch on?

The iPhone 5S is expected to launch in September or October around the same time as the iPad 5. No official release date for either Apple device has been announced yet.

The iPhone 5S will also feature a A7 processor, updated camera and new voice features.

Will you be in line to buy the new iPhone 5S when it is released?
