iPhone 5S Battery Problems: Learn to Fix Hot Spot, Battery Issues By Yourself
Several iPhone 5s users have been complainig about battery drain and other issues since Apple released their most recent mobile operating software early in August. In fact, various tech forums and Apple support sites are flooded with complaints from iPhone 5s users, saying that they are plagued by battery drain, late reaction of phone, freezing screens and hot spot issues.
Posting a complaint on one iOS 7.1 support site, one iPhone 5s user claimed that the hotspot of the user's phone actually stopped working following the release of the iOS update.
The user wrote, "Same here. Hotspot not working since I upgraded to 7.1. Such an annoying issue. I phoned my carrier this morning and they didn't want to get involved since 'it's a device issue since settings can't be saved'. No carrier updates either when I installed 7.1. So right now, no hotspot and no one want to get involved."
In fact, several other users also complained about considerable battery drain after the update, especially on iPhone 5s devices.
Another discontented iPhone user complained, "My iPhone 5S battery seem to drain much faster than usual, and charge longer. My battery drains to 50 [percent] within an hour or so after intense use on the lowest level of brightness."
Yet another user said, "My iPhone 5S problems have been draining like crazy since the iOS 7.1 Update. This morning I woke up at 8:30, my phone was at 100 (percent). It's now 10:40 and my phone is at 85 [percent]. This really needs to be fixed because I'm on my phone basically all day and we don't want to have to charge all the time."
Meanwhile, Apple has yet to address the problems related to the new update, but recommended users minimize their use of the battery by adopting simple techniques to protect battery and ensure a longer battery life with the iPhone.
A few simple techniques to resolve iPhone 5s issues due to massive battery problems are listed below.
Step 1: Restore the handset as new iPhone
Step 2: Go to this website and follow the guidelines presented there. However, do not install any apps or link to any emails yet.
Step 3: Now install One app first and use it. Having used it, go in to Settings > General > About > Diagnostics & Usage > Diagnostics & Usage Data. You will find a list of issues/crashes in your phone. You do not need to understand the code, but you will still be about to easily find the names of the apps showing that a precise app has some caused some issues.
Step 4: Go over until you see which apps cause huge battery drain problems and remove it temporarily.
