iPad 5 vs iPad Mini 2, Which will be Better Device?

The tablet market is booming and we are proving again that smaller is better, or at least more popular.

First we had the laptops and then we had the thinner laptops. We cannot seem to get get them thin enough, the Macbook air is almost nothing and we love it.

Then came along the iPad.

No keyboard? Awesome. No mouse? I like it.

As portable as laptops are, a tablet is even easier with just having to deal with one piece and nothing to open and close.

So iPads took off, four generations down and waiting for iPad 5 now.

However, in the meantime, the little known iPad Mini snuck on the scene.

Apple didn't seem to have much faith in the little guy either. With little fanfare and even lowering the quality on the device compared to a standard Apple product, its like they just wanted to test it. Just wanted to see what the reaction and response would be to it.

I was skeptical personally. I thought, an iPad is already smaller then a laptop computer screen and you have your iphone, so why would you want something in between?

Well two things, the iPad "mini" is a lot closer in size to a normal iPad than a iPhone. So its more like a little brother than a half size, which is what I think of when I hear "mini".

So after you see it compared to the iPad it makes more sense. But still, its smaller, but again people love small. They think of portable as technologically advanced. I will say its amazing how businesses and hospitals use them, its amazing and I love that aspect.

The iPad Mini's popularity is even shaping the way that the new iPad 5 will look. The iPad 5 will actually mimic the design of the Mini more than the other way around for the next generation of the device.

The iPad Mini is cheaper too which is always good and once the specs improve on the Mini 2 and they add retina display, the Mini's will be flying off the shelves even more than now.

Which would you prefer to have? The new iPad 5 or the iPad Mini 2?
