iPad Pro Specs & Release Date Rumors: Apple’s Largest Tablet with Force Touch, Apple Pay May Come in the Fall

If latest reports are to be believed, the much-anticipated iPad Pro, the largest tablet from Apple Inc. so far, may come later this year. The tablet, with a 13-inch screen is likely to debut in the fall, reports CNET.

According to Latin Post, recently Apple introduced Force Touch, a pressure-sensitive detection technology that responds differently depending on the pressure placed by the user to perform dissimilar functions. In addition, Apple has updated as well as improved its Apple Pay service. The upcoming iPad Pro may incorporate both Force Touch and Apple Pay.

Earlier, it was believed that Apple would announce a new iPad at their recently concluded Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC), but nothing such happened. Now, it is being expected that Apple will announce the next iPad in October or November. In fact, this will follow Apple's pattern of announcing a new iPhone in September. Provided Apple introduces the larger iPad is introduced this fall, it will be joining the iPad Air 3 and the iPad Mini 4.

It is rumored that the upcoming larger iPad is come with a 12.9-inch screen, which is much larger compared to the 7.9-inch Mini 3 and the 9.7-inch Air 2. However, the iPad Pro is unlikely to be thinner compared to the iPad Air 2, which measures just 6.1 mm.

Some reports claim that the larger iPad may come in new colors. Usually, iPads only come in gold, silver and space gray colors, but the new iPad may also come in a rose gold color and others colors.

According to latest rumors, the next iPads will be pre-loaded with iOS 9, which will be rolled out this fall. In fact, iOS 9 will be introducing a new split-screen view for the iPad, denoting that users can open as well as use two apps simultaneously and also operate them all at once in split-screen mode. The upcoming iPad Pro is likely to incorporate this feature.

Currently, iPhone 6 users are able to use Apple Pay, near field communication (NFC) employed for tap-to-pay services. As of now, the iPad lacks NFC and iPad owners are unable to use tap-to-pay. It is speculated that the next iPad will support NFC, making the device fully compatible with Apple Pay.

There are also rumors that the next iPad may come with a stylus, which may possibly be dubbed as the iPen. While Apple has stayed away from using a stylus earlier, Tech Radar says that an upcoming iPad will use one.
