iPad Mini 3, iPad Air 2 Release Date Rumors: TouchID to Revolutionize Tablets

Apple Inc. is preparing for a slew of upcoming announcements, including speculation about the release dates for the new iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2. The two new tablets are said to be game changing and are most likely to appear by September of this year according to a trusted analyst of KGI Securities.

The new iPad Air 2 is said to have been upgraded in terms of performance and graphics. The significant upgrade to the performance is accompanied with an upgrade in graphics as well with a new A8 chip system.

Despite the upgrade, the iPad Air 2 is said to have no changes in its overall look, and will still carry the 2048x1536 resolution. There are however, upgrades to the home button and the design of the other buttons on the device, as well as the addition of TouchID fingerprint recognition present in the iPhone 5S.

The new iPad Mini 3, on the other hand, will reportedly have a 7.9-inch screen, 2048x1536 screen resolution, an 8 megapixel camera, an A8 processor, TouchID fingerprint recognition, waterproof features, and the new iOS 8.

The fingerprint recognition confirmed for both the new tablets will have a tremendous impact on how people will handle over-the-counter and online transactions. The feature has also been reportedly opened up to app developers.

The TouchID feature will be useful in dealing with payments, transfers, and purchasing. Apple apparently has millions of credit cards and their associated information on file with which they may be able to utilize as marketing perspective, gaining an advantage over their competitors.
