Should you wait for an iPad Mini 2? With all of the excellent mini tablet choices on the market, why wouldn't somebody buy now? Ask yourself:

Do those tablets have retina display? Will the iPad Mini 2 be more or less expensive? Are you an Apple iOS fan, and want the latest iOS 7? Unfortunately these are all unconfirmed rumors, so let's recap.

The first iPad Mini Apple released does not have retina display. The last two or three iPhone installments received Apple's patented screen, but the iPad Mini did not.

Let's take a closer look at Retina display. The current iPad Mini has a display resolution of 1024 x 768; 163 pixels per inch. If the iPad Mini 2 comes with Retina display the resolution would be 2048 x 1536 at 324 ppi. That's definitely worth the wait if the rumors are true.

New reports suggest the new iPad 5 will be released in the same time August or September time frame as the new iPhone 5S, but will the iPad Mini 2 be delayed? If so, does that mean the iPad Mini 2 would skip the Retina display upgrade and opt for the new Sharp IGZIO technology.

Price? Right now an iPad Mini would run you about $330, depending on the vendor. Apple usually stays consistent with price, so $330 will most likely remain the same.

Camera? Though tablets like the iPad Mini don't usually feature the best cameras, expect Apple to upgrade it nonetheless. It probably won't be the 13-megapixel camera rumored to be part of the iPhone 5S, but something to FaceTime and Skype with.

Yes, the iPad Mini 2 will feature Apple's newest operating system. Since, chances are, the new iPad Mini will be launched and released sometime around fall 2013, the new iPad Mini 2 will probably run on iOS 7. Screenshots and rumors of a beta version indicate iOS 7 will have a more minimal aesthetic will a lot of new features. However, reports indicate, Apple has already confirmed iOS 7 features like camera filters and Panorama will not be coming to any of their iPad models.
