IPad Mini 2, IPad 5 Release Date And Price, Rumors: Will Apple Be A Curse Or Blessing To The Consumers?

people's patent news are really fun. On Tuesday, 34 patents were released by US Patent and Trademark Office that are granted to Apple. They include the complete design of iPad Mini, from iPad Mini 2 to the magnetometers used by the maps app.

There are new rumors rounding the mill about Apple's iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5. There is not much to do until the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5-release date is revealed. While we weren't able to turn up anything about the iPad 5 or iPad Mini 2's release dates or prices, we did find a bit of information that might be relevant to battery life on the new Apple devices.

iPad Mini 2 & iPad 5: Patent Rumors

Among the most interesting revelations in the newly minted group of patents, one that could apply to the iPad Mini 2 and the iPad 5 deals with iOS's iTunes interface specifically designed for multi-touch devices.

The patent focuses on the Movie section of iTunes and states that the method described by the patent helps conserve power and achieves greater intervals between charges.

The interface represented in the patent schematic bears a close resemblance to the current iTunes interface on iOS devices, including the iPhone 5, the iPad Mini and the current generation iPad.

There are however, a few differences, so it begs the question: Has this technology already been implemented? Or it's something we'll see on the iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5. While the changes aren't especially dramatic from a design standpoint, the patent also talks about the design as it relates to increased battery strength, which is always welcome on iOS devices.

"Such methods and interfaces reduce the cognitive burden on a user and produce a more efficient human-machine interface. For battery-operated computing devices, such methods and interfaces conserve power and increase the time between battery charges."

According to other reports, iPad Mini 2 will feature a screen with a resolution of 2048 x 1536. This is almost four times the resolution of the present iPad Mini and is equal to the fourth generation iPad, which was released along with the iPad Mini last year. AU Optronics has been rumored to be making displays for the iPad Mini 2.

Other specs include a more powerful dual core A7 processor and a 7.9-inch screen. It will also feature a 10-hour battery life, a FaceTime HD camera, and an iSight camera with 1080 pixels HD video recording. Apple is also trying to reduce the thickness of the iPad Mini 2 by using the Sharp's IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technology in its screens.
