Just in: a couple more leads on the upcoming release date, features and specs regarding the Apple iPad Mini 2.

Bad news for Apple fans who were hoping to score a new iPad Mini 2 with Retina display in 2013. DigiTimes recently reported is holding off Retina for the Mini until first or second quarter 2014. Instead Apple will streamline the new iPad Mini 2 with the same resolution display as the iPad 4. Does that mean a cheaper iPad Mini 2?

On the other hand Apple is redesigning the look of the new iPad Mini 2, opting for a cleaner, more flushed screen.

DigiTimes: "Apple is also said to be revising the design of the chassis to give the next-generation iPad mini an almost bezel-free look"

The new design should match the minimalist aesthetic in the new iOS 7.

Apple doesn't launch new iPad installments every year like the iPhone, Apple's flagship. However, the general consensus is they will launch the new iPad 5 sometime in fall of 2013. Will the new iPad come with a Retina display or the same 2048 x 1536 as it's predecessor and the new iPad Mini 2?

Will the new iPad 5 also come at a discounted price?

Either way both devices are expected to available around holiday season this year. Along with the new iPad Mini 2, iPad 5, Apple is expected to release the iPhone 5S. All devices will work with the new iOS 7, also released fall 2013.
