iPad Air vs. Nokia Lumia 2520: Specs, Features, Price / Which Tablet Has Better Display, Design, Speed, Camera and Software?

iPad Air vs. Nokia Lumia 2520 specs and features showdown.

Apple and Nokia both just showed off two new, sure to be, industry leading tablets. But what's the real difference between the Lumia 2520 and iPad Air when it comes to display, design, speed, camera and software?

First let's start with the display. The iPad Air, as was expected, features a 9.7-inch Retina display screen with 2048 x 1536 resolution at 264 ppi. Though the Lumia 2520 has a larger 10.1-inch display, the resolution is a little less clear at 1920 x 1080 and 218 ppi. Though the resolution is a little subpar, the screen reflects better in bright-lighting conditions. So if you're laying by the pool or on the beach, the Lumia 2520 may be the tablet for you.

As for design, the iPad Air definitely seems sturdier with the sleak aluminum exterior, while the Lumia 2520 features the plastic casing found on the rest of Windows' line of phones.

As for processor speed both tablets are at the top of their game. With the dual-core A7 chip found in the iPad Air, Apple may have the edge over the Lumia 2520's Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, even though either processor should run extremely smoothly.

The Nokia Lumia tablet may win in the camera department with a 6.7-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facer for video chat. The Apple iPad Air is equipped with a 5-megapixel camera on the back that can shoot 1080p video while the Lumia can only shoot 720p. I'd say both tablets are pretty neck and neck when it comes to camera specs.

As always, software is a personal preferences. If you've been an Apple user for some time, you'd probably want to stick with iOS 7. If you're ready to try something new the Nokia Lumia features the Windows 8.1 operating system.

The price for both tablets could be a major deciding factor for buyers. The price of the iPad Air and the Nokia Lumia 2520 will be $499, however WalMart will be selling the Apple tablet for $20 less at $479.
