iPad Air Specs, Features and Design
The Apple iPad Air follows in the shadow of the Macbook Air due to its thinness, and is said to be the slimmest and lightest full-sized tablet on the market.
The tablet is said to be 2% lighter compared than other previously launched iPad tablets and only measures 7.5mm.
"iPad Air is astonishingly thin and light. Through a series of refinements, we were able to drop close to a quarter of the volume of the previous-generation iPad," Apple stated on its website.
"Yet from the moment you pick it up, you'll notice how durable it feels. We took everything we've learned about making unibody devices and refined the process to be even more material-efficient and exact. The result is an iPad Air that feels amazing to hold and is easy to take with you wherever you go."
The display of the iPad Air is the same as other tablets having a 9.7in 2048x1536 resolution Retina display.
Like the iPhone 5s, the iPad Air comes with an A7 chip and has an iOS 7 operating system giving it a desktop-like architecture.
Users will have the option of choosing different memory capacities for the iPad Air as it comes with 16, 32, 64 and 128 internal memory options, and users can choose between the colors of white and space grey.
"You have to hold iPad Air to believe it. It's just 7.5 millimeters thin and weighs just one pound. The stunning Retina display sits inside thinner bezels, so all you see is your content. And an incredible amount of power lies inside the sleek enclosure. So you can do so much more. With so much less," according to Apple.
