iPad Air 3 Rumors & News: Apple Unlikely to Launch iPad Air 2 Successor in 2015?

According to the report, while the iPad Pro and iPad Mini 4 are on course, Apple will not release the iPad Air 2 successor this year.

Quoting the report published in the Chinese publication Economic Daily News, IB Times states that Apple will not launch a successor to the iPad Air 2 in 2015. The Chinese publication cites Foxconn's 2015 orders to confirm this news. In fact, Foxconn has supposedly received orders only for the 12.9-inch extra-large version, dubbed as the Apple iPad Pro and the mini variant Apple iPad Mini 4 with 7.9-inch display. As there is no mention about the medium-sized iPad Air 3 for 2015, it seems Apple will be concentrating on the bigger iPad Pro.

Conversely, Phone Arena reports that Apple is preparing to launch the iPad Pro to be its flagship tablet for 2015. This denotes that the iPad Air 2 successor will be pushed back to 2016. According to the report, as an alternative, the Cupertino firm may possibly offer a somewhat revamped variant of the iPad Air with least configuration changes - something similar to the iPad Mini 3 released in 2014.

In the meantime, sales of tablet have not been noteworthy suring 2015. According to a report in DigiTimes, "Most tablet players may see difficulties achieving their shipment goals for 2015 or making profits from the product line."

In terms of the key specifications of the iPad Pro, the tablet is likely to come with four speakers, positioned on each corner of the device.
