iPad Air 2 Release Date, Specs and Rumors: Revolutionary Touch ID Coming

Apple's new iPad Air 2 is said to have features that will surely revolutionize tablet technology and its industry.

According to Designtrends, the upcoming iPad Air 2 will become a "game changer" and will have similar qualities with the iPhone 6. It is reported that Air 2 will be released this Fall. However, since Apple also announced iPhone 6 and the iWatch last year, there is speculation that Air 2 could overshadow the first two products.

Air 2 will reportedly have tons of upgrades that will entice loyal Apple consumers as well as new customers. It is said that it will contain an A8 chip that can reasonably boost the performance in the CPU and boost its graphics unit as well. This would mean that it can support 4K ultra-high definition TV and gaming-level graphics.

"This upcoming standard is working its way into both the professional monitor space and beginning to become available as TV sets. The iPad will need more GPU clusters if it is to deal with the upgraded output. A bump to 4K support for external displays would be very positive," according to Seeking Alpha.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Air 2's release would come early this year unlike the iPhone 6 which came out late November last year. It is also said that Air 2 would more likely be released during this year's third quarter.

Kuo also suggested that the A8 chip in the new Air 2 is built by TSMC. He also said that the device will come with its own Touch ID fingerprint security and an 8-megapixel rear camera.
